Steve Mixup started his photobooth projects in 1979. He is the founder of the ‘International Photobooth Convention’ (IPC) holding the first event in 1999. Although he has no problem with digital photobooths his work is dominated by the old analogue machines. Backgrounds, masks, effects and good old fashioned creativity are tools used in producing some of the most bizarre images created in a photobooth. As well as working in other realms of art and music he still continues to use the photobooth whenever he can.
