A ‘Photo Do‘
These photo sessions were, and still are, called ‘photo do’s’, a bit of a ‘do’ with cameras and props, generally improvised and with an emphasis on the bizarre. Starting in the 1970’s they have continued until the present day. They can also be seen as a ‘happening’, a ‘performance’ but the primary reason was always to achieve a ‘crazy’ photo. For decades the resulting photographs remained, as they were took, but gradually the enhancement and manipulation with digital software has sometimes become part of the process.
