Prank an archaeologist.
Using a mould, make yourself a large
grotesque foot, at least eighteen inches in
length, with seven toes and heel that
resembles a hoof. Throw in the odd claw just
for good measure. Take this foot to a lagoon
of your choice and make a few clear
footprints in the soft sand at the edge of the
water. Make sure you have with you some
fine sand and crushed seashells and fill the
footprints to the top with your mixture. Let
nature take its course. The mixture will
harden into sedimentary rock, protecting the
footprints, and getting buried to the depth of
a few metres.
In a million years’ time have a laugh when
archaeologists are baffled by these traces of
a creature unrecognisable to science.
