Steve Howard aka ‘Mixup’ started his photobooth projects in 1979. He is the founder of the ‘International Photobooth Convention’ (IPC) holding the first event in 1999. Although he has no problem with the digital photobooths his work is dominated by the old analogue machines. Backgrounds, masks (usually called ‘Mad Glasses’ in the early days), effects and collage are tools used in producing some of the most bizarre images created in a photobooth. As well as working in other realms of art and music he still continues to use the photobooth whenever he can.
